We’ve listed nine top-rated 240Hz laptops for competitive esports gamers. All of them will meet your needs.

The 144Hz trend had a good run. With the introduction of 240Hz displays competitive gamers now have an even greater advantage thanks to switching to faster monitors. While 240Hz displays have been around for some time, they are just now making their way into the market for consumer gaming laptops.

The good news is that current generation laptop GPUs, in addition to 240Hz displays, are now more powerful than ever. Even the middle-range laptop GPUs can push today’s top titles at max settings on a 1080P screen with a high framerate. Some of the top games of today aren’t graphic-intensive (Rocket League and Fortnite, CSGO and League of Legends), so they can be run on max settings. These laptops can run your favorite games at an average framerate, which is better than running them on maximum settings.

These are my top ten 240Hz laptops for competitive gamers.

1. MSI GT76 Titan 17.3”

17.3” / 1080P

Our Rating 9.6/10

The MSI GT76 Titan is a great gaming laptop for those with a large budget. It offers the best performance and price. The MSI GT76 Titan laptop comes equipped with a high-performance, 240Hz display and all the hardware required to fully take advantage of this extreme refresh rate.

The GT76 Titan features an Intel Core i7-9700K CPU, an RTX2080 GPU, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and an RTX 2080 graphics card. The GT76 Titan’s 240Hz display measures 17.3 inches and has a 1080P resolution, which is standard for 240Hz displays.

There are many RTX 2080 laptops with a 240Hz refresh display. However, the GT76 is our favorite because of its price, larger display, upgraded processor and robust cooling.

You might consider the Razer Blade Pro 17, which is listed in our Honorable Mentions section, if you are looking for a lightweight RTX 2080 laptop.

Ultimately though, although all the laptops in this list can push games at a sufficient framerate to take full advantage of the 240Hz refresh speed, it is the RTX2080 laptops that will maximize performance. We think the GT76 Titan laptop is our favorite.

2. ASUS ROG Strix Scar III 17.3″

High-end balanced laptop with 240Hz.

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2070

16GB DDR4

17.3” / 1080P

Our Rating 9.3/10

The ASUS ROG STRIX Scar III might be worth a look if you don’t want to spend nearly $3,000 on the GT76, or just want to have some options at a lower price.

Although it has a slower processor, GPU, and less RAM than GT76, it still comes in at not close with an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, an RTX2070 GPU, 16GB RAM, and an Intel Core i7-9750H GPU. It is also nearly $800 cheaper than the GT76.

Scar III comes with a 17.3-inch screen and 512GB SSD. It also includes a secondary 1TB hard disk. It does indeed have the same screen as the GT76, but it has more storage.

The GT76 laptop will perform about 10-15% better than the ASUS Scar III laptop in most games. This is primarily due to comparing a few RTX2080 and RTX2070 benchmarks. In the end, the GT76 will not give you a huge performance advantage over the Scar III or any other RTX2070 laptop.

However, the ultimate goal of a laptop running at 240Hz is to achieve the highest framerate possible in order to take full advantage of the higher refresh rates. This means that the 10-15% performance improvement is much more important than it would be in other situations (like with a 60Hz or even 144Hz display).

The RTX 2070 still provides enough performance to make the most of the 240Hz display. This is especially true for non-demanding titles such as Fortnite or Rocket League.

If you don’t have the budget for a RTX 2080 240Hz laptop or aren’t willing to spend the extra $1,000, a RTX-2070 laptop with a 240Hz refresh speed is a solid option. We like the ASUS ROG Strix Scar III, which has a 240Hz display out of all the RTX-2070 laptops. It is a nice compromise between its price and the hardware.

3. ASUS ROG Zephyrus S 15.6”

The lightest laptop at 240Hz

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2070

16GB DDR4

15.6″ / G-SYNC

Our Rating 9.3/10

Amazon Price Check

There are a few features that make the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S stand out from other options. The Zephyrus S is just under 4.5 pounds, making it both one of the lightest RTX-2070 laptops and one of the smallest 240Hz laptops.

This laptop is also the only 240Hz laptop to feature NVIDIA’s G-Sync variable refresh rate technology. G-Sync is NVIDIA’s variable refresh rate technology. You can find out more about it here. To simplify, G-Sync allows NVIDIA GPUs to sync their framerate output with display’s refresh speed, which in turn creates an extremely smooth in-game experience.

G-Sync’s benefits can be substantial, but they aren’t as obvious with super-high refresh rate displays that have a high-end GPU present. This is why G-Sync isn’t found on as many high end gaming laptops.

G-Sync is still an advantage over other laptops that have similar hardware. G-Sync is definitely an advantage for the Zephyrus S.

The Scar III or GT76 may be better depending on your needs. Both options have larger screens than the Zephyrus, and the Scar III has more storage. It is also more affordable. The GT76 has a faster processor, a better GPU and more memory. The GT76 is however $600 less expensive.

The Zephyrus S’s merits will ultimately depend on how important you consider NVIDIA’s GSync technology and whether it is lightweight. The Zephyrus S is the best option if you are looking for a lightweight laptop with 240Hz performance.

The Scar III and the MSI GE65 Raider are the best options if you’re looking for more performance at a lower price. The GT76 is the best option if you don’t care about weight but still want maximum performance.

4. MSI GE65 Raider 15.6″

The best laptop price-performance ratio is 240Hz

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2070

16GB DDR4

15.6″ / 1080P

Our Rating 9.2/10

MSI’s GE65 Raider laptop is another RTX 2070 option with a 240Hz refresh speed that is worth looking into. The Raider does not have a larger 17.3 inch display, NVIDIA’s GSync technology, nor an excessive amount of storage or memory.

It does however come at a very attractive price. The GE65 Raider, which costs just $1,800, is one of the most affordable choices on this list. It also has the cheapest 240Hz laptop with an RTX2070.

It will perform as well as the Scar III and Zephyrus S in terms of performance. The i7-9750H processor, RTX 2070 GPU and 16GB RAM make it capable of running at the same speed. ), if your main concern is price-to-performance, then the GE65 Raider is probably the better option for you.

The GE65 Raider is a great option if you are looking for a RTX 2070 240Hz laptop at a low price.

5. Sager NP7856 15.6”

Gaming laptops at 240Hz are the cheapest

Although a product priced at $1,300 is not cheap, it is the cheapest price you will find a laptop with 240Hz display. There are currently two options available for $1,300. They come with a 240Hz screen and an RTX2060 GPU. These are the Sager NP7856 or the Prostar NH58RDQ.

Both offer very similar specs so you can flip a coin. However, be sure to check the price of each one to see if it drops or goes up. Sager won the edge, however, as both brands are not as well-known as the MSI’s, HP’s and ASUS’s. However, Sager is more established than Prostar.

The Sager NP7856 includes an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and 16GB RAM. It also has a 15.6-inch 1080P display and a 500GB SSD.

There are cheaper RTX2060 laptops that you might consider. However, if your goal is to have a 240Hz screen, the Sager laptop and the Prostar option are the best options.

6. Razer Blade Pro 17.3”

Honorable mention #1

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2080

16GB DDR4

17.3” / 1080P

Our Rating 9.4/10

Razer laptops are great and always top the market. Their downfall is that they are often more expensive than competitors offering similar products. Razer Blade Pro 17 240Hz laptop is the same.

The 240Hz Razer blade Pro 17 has an Intel Core i7-9750H CPU, an RTX-2080 GPU, 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 17.3-inch 1080P screen. Its closest competitor in terms of specs is the MSI GT76 Titan or the MSI GS65 Stalth.

The GT76 Titan and GS65 Stealth are both cheaper , and have more hardware options. The GT76 has a faster processor (i7-9700K), 32GB of memory, and 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD storage. It costs almost $400 less.

The MSI GS65 Stealth uses the same processor but has more storage and memory. It costs $200 less. The Razer Blade Pro 17 is larger than the MSI GS65 Stealth (13.5″ vs. 15.6″)

However, the Blade Pro 17 still trails the GT76 despite it costing significantly less. The Blade Pro 17 is not likely to be more expensive than the GT76 unless it goes up in cost or the Razer Blade Pro 17 falls in price.

7. MSI GS65 Stealth 15.6″

Honorable mention #2

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2080

32GB DDR4

15.6″ / 1080P

Our Rating 9.4/10

Amazon Price Check

The MSI GS65Stealth is a solid gaming laptop with a 240Hz screen. It suffers from the same fate as the Razer Blade Pro 17: it is currently less expensive.

The MSI G65 Stealth laptop is just below $3,000 and nearly $200 more than MSI’s GT76 Titan RTX 2080 240Hz laptop. The GT76 Titan has a larger screen and a faster processor.

However, the G65 Stealth offers a larger 1TB SSD. However, you can easily add more storage to your laptop. You can’t increase the screen size or storage capacity of a laptop.

The G65 Stealth is an excellent laptop, but it is now outperformed by the more affordable MSI GT76 Titan. MSI makes both laptops so I doubt they will complain.

8. HP Omen 15.6”

Honorable mention #3

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2070

32GB DDR4

15.6″ / 1080P

Our Rating 9.2/10

Amazon Price Check

HP’s Omen laptop with 240Hz is another option. The HP Omen laptop features an Intel Core i7-9750H processor, 32GB memory, a 2TB SSD and a secondary 2TB hard disk. It also has a 15.6-inch 1080P LCD display.

The Omen is currently priced at just over $2,000 as of the publishing of this post. This price is the same as the ASUS ROG STRIX scar III, which we mentioned near the top.

The Omen is cheaper and has more storage. However, the Scar III was chosen over the Omen because it has a larger 17.3-inch screen.

The Omen’s smaller screen means it is lighter and more compact than the ASUS ROG STRIX Scar III. If you don’t need a larger screen but prefer a smaller, lighter laptop, the Omen may be the best choice.

We prefer a 17.3-inch screen to a 15.6 inch screen, so the Scar III won. The Omen is a better choice if you value more storage space and/or lightweight options.

9. Prostar NH58RDQ 15.6”

Honorable mention #4

Intel Core i7-9750H

NVIDIA RTX 2060

16GB DDR4

15.6″ / 1080P

Our Rating 8.9/10

Amazon Price Check

The Prostar NH58RDQ is our final choice. The RTX 2060 laptop, the NH58RDQ, is equipped with an Intel Core i7-9750H processor and 16GB RAM. It also has a 15.6-inch 1080P screen and a 500GB SSD.

The Prostar NH58RDQ is priced at the exact same price as the Sager NP7856 and has the exact same specs. We ended up choosing the Sager laptop because Sager is a more well-known brand than Prostar.

These models are the best 240Hz laptops. You should also check the price of each model before buying, as it is possible for one to be cheaper than the other.

Is a 240Hz laptop right for you?

A 240Hz gaming laptop is the best option for competitive gamers. However, most gamers can get by with a laptop with a lower refresh rate. There are many 144Hz refresh rate laptops available that don’t cost as much, and even 60Hz laptops can be used by casual gamers.

If you want to play competitive games and are serious about it, then a laptop with a 240Hz refresh rate is something you should consider. The higher refresh rate will give you an edge over your competitors. We believe that the nine options we have highlighted are the best of the available 240Hz laptops.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop with 240Hz, then one of these options should be sufficient.
